Position: Business Development Manager

Location: New York, NY

Salary: DOE

 

 

We are looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) based in New York. This qualified candidate will be charged with the responsibility of selling services to new clients and business development within existing strategic accounts. The BDM will drive the sales process by identifying and targeting prospects, initiating activity, and managing sales cycles to closure. The team is comprised of entrepreneurial individuals, and we are looking for someone with a semi-technical background, strong people skills, great work ethic and a team player attitude.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

*       Implement and manage a personal strategy to exceed aggressive sales goals

*       Find and identify prospective clients and manage the sales cycle to closure

*       Cold call into firms that are candidates for  trading infrastructure and real-time services

*       Develop and grow existing strategic client relationships

*       Timely forecasting, pipeline management, and reporting

*       Research technical information for prospect and client projects

*       Work closely with other  personnel and business units to identify opportunities

*       Become a subject matter expert in the trading infrastructure and market data industry

*       Prepare and negotiate client contracts

*       Perform various types of procurement (hardware, telecommunications, etc.)

*       Prepare presentations, proposals and Visio diagrams

Qualifications:

Required Basic Qualifications

 

·        Bachelor's Degree

·        A proven track record for consistently meeting or exceeding sales target

·        A comprehensive understanding of trading infrastructure and real-time data feeds

·        5+ yrs business development experience and managing client relationships

·        Strong prospecting and lead generation skills

·        Experience in the financial services and/or trading industry with current professional contacts

·        Ability to effectively interface with multiple internal and external departments

·        Strong project management skills (time and organization)

·        High level of expertise with Microsoft Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Word

·        Excellent communication skills, internally and externally, written & verbal

·        Technical background and experience selling technology products/services a plus

·        Telco and/or networking background a plus

·        Eagerness to continue to learn and grow

·        Ability to travel
