Position: Database Engineer

Location: Natick, MA

Salary: DOE

The Database Engineer will play a critical role in enabling the delivery of business-critical information systems, data warehousing, OLAP reports and data for internal and external customers. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Collaborate directly with business owners to define data requirements, reporting requirements, data analysis requests and technical specifications
• Model, develop and deploy OLTP and OLAP data models for business-critical applications and advanced analytics platform
• Build, design and deploy web-based front-end reports and data analysis using Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Integration, Analysis and Reporting Services and Jasper
• Responsible for developing and maintaining data source views, dimensions, hierarchies, cubes, interactive reports
• Assist with ongoing OLTP database design, development and operational support
• Assist with ongoing OLAP data warehouse system design, development and operational support
• Author and modify complex SQL/T-SQL queries/stored procedures
• Identify, construct and execute ETL tasks for continuous growth of data warehouse and data marts
• Reviews, evaluates and recommends current and future data needs
• Collaborate with product management and business stakeholders to refine and prioritize new requirements.  

Job Requirements:

• 5-7 years experience designing and deploying OLTP/OLAP databases
• Strong analytical background focusing on data mining, reporting writing, data visualization and analysis
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 and/or MySQL 5.x
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 BI and/or Pentaho BI or other open source data management platforms
• Experience writing complex SQL/T-SQL queries; Microsoft .NET 2.x, 3.x and Java experience a plus
• Experience developing and deploying reports for multiple business customers for internal and external consumption
• Strong background in high-volume database-driven applications, data model specification and evolution
• Experience with SaaS systems a plus.

• Experience with Agile methodologies/Scrum
• BS in Computer Science or related field required.
• MS in Computer Science or related field desired.
