General Summary:
The candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing Java-based financial software solutions – both Swing based user interfaces as well as EJB based business logic and data access components. The candidate will be capable of proposing and documenting software design, analyzing requirements, and presenting implementation options through the use of design diagrams and wireframes. The candidate will be responsible for hands-on development and promoting best practices for both object-oriented design and development.
The candidate should understand the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), be capable of analyzing requirements, be detail-oriented, embrace development best practices, and communicate clearly and effectively with peers, project management, and supervisors.
Key Responsibilities:
The chosen candidate will work on implementing UI, database and financial calculations features as specified by the business users. The candidate will review design decisions for extensibility, testability, and maintainability. He or she will be required to design and develop reliable components that are well tested. He or she will be required to properly document work in accordance with the standards of the team.
Job Specifications: Technical
- 7+ years of object-oriented design experience
- 5+ years of development experience with Java
- 2+ years of development experience with EJB3, Hibernate and Oracle.
- 2+ years of development experience with Java Swing
- Proficiency in Oracle relational database use.
- Strong experience with design-for-testability and unit-tests
- Proficiency with software configuration management tools, specifically Subversion
- Understanding and dedication to software development “best practices”
